In the PAW tradition of apostolic witness, episcopal order, and humble service, the work of the Corps is offered to strengthen worship, support leadership, and serve the people of God with reverence and integrity.


DEDICATION

This Protocol and Adjutancy Corps Manual is dedicated to the servants of the Connecticut District Council who labor quietly in support of worship, leadership, hospitality, and sacred order.

In the spirit of our Council’s Apostolic and Oneness Pentecostal identity, and in keeping with the CDC motto, “The Gospel and More,” this dedication honors those who serve without self-promotion, who prepare with discipline, and who help preserve an atmosphere in which the work of the Lord may proceed with dignity and peace.

May every person who serves under this Manual do so with humility, holiness, discretion, loyalty, and integrity, seeking always to honor God, support leadership, protect the vulnerable, and serve the people of God faithfully. This dedication is offered as a statement of honor and spiritual encouragement

 

Introducing the CDC Protocol and Adjutancy Corps

With prayerful expectation, we present the CDC Protocol and Adjutancy Corps to the leadership and membership of the Connecticut District Council. This ministry is being formed to help cultivate an atmosphere in which worship may flow freely, leadership may be supported faithfully, guests may be received graciously, and every sacred gathering may proceed with dignity and order. It is our prayer that the Corps will become a steady, Spirit-led presence in the life of the Council—serving quietly, preparing carefully, and helping the CDC fulfill its calling with excellence, warmth, and reverence.

VISION

To cultivate a consecrated company of servants whose humility, discipline, spiritual maturity, and excellence strengthen the worship, leadership, fellowship, and public witness of the Connecticut District Council.


MISSION

The mission of the CDC Protocol and Adjutancy Corps is to prepare and deploy servant-minded men and women who provide prayerful, trained, discreet, and dependable support to our Diocesan Bishop, Council leadership, clergy, delegates, members, and guests while preserving sacred order, gracious hospitality, and the dignity of every approved service and event.


PURPOSE

The purpose of the Corps is to answer the call of our Diocesan Bishop, the Honorable Bishop Bruce K. Shaw, for servant-minded individuals who will offer themselves for sacred service; to answer the call of our international body by strengthening the ecclesiastical order of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. at the local Council level; and to prepare members for fellowship with an international cadre devoted to serving the leadership of the PAW with humility, loyalty, readiness, and integrity.


This ministry matters because sacred work is strengthened by faithful support. Scripture repeatedly shows that those who stand beside appointed leadership share in the labor of God’s purpose. Joshua served near Moses and was shaped through faithful attendance; Hur stood with Aaron to uphold Moses’ hands when strength was needed; Jonathan strengthened David through covenant loyalty; and Ruth’s devotion to Naomi revealed the beauty of steadfast presence. In the same spirit, the Corps is not formed to seek prominence, but to make room for ministry—to notice what is needed, to stand where support is required, and to help carry the work with wisdom and grace.


To serve in this way is both an honor and a humbling sacred responsibility. It asks for more than polished appearance or knowledge of protocol; it calls for prayer, discretion, teachability, self-control, compassion, and a heart willing to serve when no recognition follows. The mantle of adjutancy is carried most faithfully by those who understand that nearness to leadership is never a place of privilege, but a place of stewardship. Every assignment—whether visible or unseen—becomes an offering to God when it is performed with clean hands, a faithful spirit, and genuine love for His people.

Therefore, this invitation is extended warmly to both men and women across the Connecticut District Council, OUR Council, who sense a call to serve with humility, steadiness, and sacred attentiveness. Under the leadership of Bishop Shaw and in fellowship with the wider PAW, there is a place for willing hearts to be trained, formed, and joined to a community of servants whose ministry reaches from the local Council to the international body. We look forward with holy anticipation to the lives that will be shaped, the leaders who will be strengthened, the worship that will be protected, and the spirit of service that will deepen throughout OUR CDC as we embrace this mantle together.

 

 

FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES OF SACRED SERVICE

Sacred Trust. The Protocol and Adjutancy Corps shall understand its service as a sacred trust. Adjutancy is not merely a role performed during worship or official events, but a ministry requiring servants whose actions, character, and commitment consistently reflect the dignity of the office and the holiness of the work.

Foundational Descriptors. The six foundational and public descriptors of the CDC Adjutancy Corps shall be SERVICE, PROTOCOL, ORDER, DIGNITY, LOYALTY, and INTEGRITY. These terms represent the identity, standard, and visible witness of the Corps and may be reflected on official Adjutancy documents, manuals, flyers, programs, approved displays, and the official Adjutancy logo as appropriate.


MINISTERIAL FUNCTION AND SACRED ORDER

Service, Protocol, and Order describe the outward responsibilities of the Adjutancy:


  • SERVICE is the willing and disciplined act of assisting where needed, placing the needs of the Bishop, the church, and the worship setting above personal recognition or convenience.
  • PROTOCOL is the careful observance of proper order, respect, and procedure so ceremonial, episcopal, and worship functions are carried out with clarity and reverence.
  • ORDER is the intentional arrangement and steady coordination of people, movements, and responsibilities so sacred services proceed with peace, dignity, and purpose.


CHARACTER AND COVENANT COMMITMENT

Dignity, Loyalty, and Integrity describe the inward qualities of the servant:


  • DIGNITY is the visible grace, restraint, and respect carried by the servant, demonstrating that the work is holy and must be approached with honor.
  • LOYALTY is steadfast devotion to the Bishop, the church, and the assigned mission, shown through faithfulness, discretion, and dependable support.
  • INTEGRITY is the consistency of being truthful, trustworthy, and morally grounded, ensuring that the servant can be relied upon in public duty and private conduct.
