MY CDC: A nEW Season of Belonging, Service, and Shared PurpOSE

Purpose: To introduce MY CDC as a Council-wide call for the whole CDC family to embrace shared ownership, faithful participation, spiritual stewardship, and legacy-minded service.

THE MY CDC INITIATIVE begins with a simple, powerful truth: the Connecticut District Council is not apart from us; it is ours to cherish, strengthen, and serve. We are the CDC family, heirs of a living Apostolic legacy carried by saints, pastors, mothers, fathers, youth, workers, and leaders who believed the Council belonged to them because God had entrusted it to them.

MY CDC invites us to move from distance to ownership. Instead of speaking of the Council as “they,” we are called to say “we.” Its challenges and victories belong to all of us. Every strengthened church, encouraged young person, developed leader, and faithful act of service becomes part of our shared testimony.

This is not meant to burden the saints; it is meant to awaken belonging. MY CDC encourages each member to be present when possible, support as able, invite others, and offer what God has placed in their hands. Our commitment begins in the local assembly and extends to the wider Council family, where every gathering, program, and act of service becomes part of OUR CDC and, personally, MY CDC.

MY CDC reminds every believer that each person brings sum-thing, that each person is sum-body, and that together we help carry the church and Council sum-where they could not go without us. Like the servants in the Parable of the Talents, we are not asked to offer the same gift, but to faithfully use what God has entrusted.

That is why the language of rhythm and synchronization belongs here. When clocks, metronomes, or fireflies begin apart but gradually move in shared pattern, they give us a picture of what can happen when a Council embraces one heartbeat. MY CDC calls pastors, churches, leaders, youth, seniors, and workers to move together in prayer, presence, service, and purpose until our separate efforts become a clearer, brighter witness for the Lord.

For this reason, MY CDC should be carried publicly and creatively through announcements, testimonies, invitations, youth engagement, ministry reports, and personal conversations. It should become more than a slogan; it should become a joyful language of belonging, attendance, stewardship, and shared responsibility.

CDC leadership should model this spirit first. Pastors, officers, auxiliary leaders, committee workers, and ministry servants can help others see that the Council is not maintained by a few people at the front, but by the faithful presence of the whole body. MY CDC is a renewed way of saying: this is our inheritance, our responsibility, our opportunity, and our future.

If embraced in this spirit, MY CDC can turn attendance into ownership, ownership into service, and service into unity. It invites us to honor those who came before us by faithfully carrying what they entrusted to us—with conviction, gratitude, and joy: this is not merely the CDC; this is OUR CDC, and personally, this is MY CDC.
