Missions Project 2027 (MP2027)

“So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and

The Connecticut District Council Church Extension and Evangelism Department (CDCCEED) presents Missions Project 2027 (MP2027) as a first-year framework for renewed kingdom building, evangelism, church strengthening, and church extension across the Council’s mission field. The October 2026 through September 2027 cycle is intended to organize the work with prayer, clarity, accountability, and practical readiness while laying the foundation for future phases of service.

At its heart, this proposal seeks to help CDC churches strengthen their local witness, expand meaningful community outreach, support congregations that need encouragement or resources, and prepare for new church planting opportunities where the Lord opens doors. The plan draws its spiritual pattern from Nehemiah, whose rebuilding work combined prayerful dependence on God, honest assessment, organized labor, shared responsibility, courageous leadership, and faithful completion. As Nehemiah helped rebuild what had been broken and restore what had been vulnerable, MP2027 seeks to help OUR CDCCEED strengthen, organize, and advance the work of evangelism and church extension with similar faith, order, and determination.

At the heart of MP2027 is the CDC motto: “The Gospel and More.” For the CDCCEED, this is more than a phrase; it is a joyful call to proclaim Jesus Christ clearly and to let that proclamation take visible form through compassion, discipleship, training, outreach, support, and practical ministry care. Every goal, strategy, gate, partnership, and initiative of MP2027 should invite our churches to carry the Gospel faithfully and then serve beyond words with love, order, preparation, and purpose.

The purpose of the Connecticut District Council Church Extension and Evangelism Department is to help bring the Council’s mission and motto, “The Gospel and More,” to life by encouraging, equipping, and mobilizing affiliated churches, pastors, leaders, and members for fruitful evangelism, compassionate community outreach, church strengthening, and responsible church extension. The Department seeks to help local congregations become more visible, prepared, connected, and effective in sharing Jesus Christ while also serving the spiritual and practical needs of their communities. Through district-wide evangelism efforts, support for congregations facing challenges, new church plant preparation, trained outreach and altar-work teams, discipleship and follow-up systems, mission-focused stewardship, and coordinated planning, assessment, training, and accountability, CDCCEED exists to help the Council serve with clarity, compassion, and lasting kingdom impact.

The vision of the CDCCEED is to see a unified, prayerful, and mission-ready Council in which every affiliated church is strengthened for local ministry, every community is approached with compassion and intentional outreach, and future church plants are prepared on a solid foundation of doctrine, leadership, stewardship, discipleship, and service. In this vision, “The Gospel and More” becomes more than a motto; it becomes a shared ministry posture that shapes every goal, strategy, and initiative of MP2027. Inspired by Nehemiah’s burden, vision, and disciplined rebuilding work, the CDCCEED seeks to strengthen what remains, repair what has been weakened, and help position churches and communities for renewed spiritual vitality. Through faith, planning, collaboration, and accountability, the Department looks forward to helping the Connecticut District Council build on its historic foundation while moving together toward a future of sustainable kingdom impact.

As MP2027 moves from vision to action, three principles should keep the work grounded and inviting: strengthen the local church, follow approved procedures, and remain flexible enough to respond wisely as bylaws, policies, leadership directives, and mission-field needs are clarified.

MP2027 is the first-year organizational and initial implementation framework for the Connecticut District Council Church Extension and Evangelism Department. It offers a practical, prayerful path for governance alignment, church strengthening, evangelism, outreach, training, stewardship, limited pilot activity, and reporting during the October 2026 through September 2027 fiscal cycle. The plan is designed to strengthen local churches, prepare workers, organize Evangelism Zones, coordinate with the CDC Legacy and Heritage Institute for Ministry Preparation, and identify mission priorities that can grow into a longer-term departmental strategy.
